Massage can serve to be a great support as your body goes through the profound physical and emotional changes that occur when carrying and nurturing your baby through pregnancy. I am trained to a high standard in both pre and post natal massage and not only can the massage treatments that I offer be a relaxing, nurturing experience they are highly beneficial to aid in helping with the physical, mental and emotional complaints that can be associated with pregnancy such as low back pain, sciatica, pelvic pain, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, fatigue, poor sleep patterns, anxiety and stress using targeted specific techniques.

Massage can be a great tool to address many of the complaints that are present during pregnancy and more importantly can give you that much needed "me" time, especially as more and more women are working later into their pregnancies and can be a vital balancing point for many.

Your positioning will depend on how many weeks you are into your pregnancy and side lying, semi reclined and even seated are options with a sprinkling of pillows for your complete ease and comfort.

BENEFITS INCLUDE

~Pain relief from many of the common pregnancy discomforts- increasing pain relieving hormones and pain threshold (great for labour and birthing)
~Stress relief and relaxation as stress hormones are reduced and "feel good" hormones are increased- elevating these can also guard against PND (Post Natal Depression)
~Reduced anxiety, easier breathing- studies have shown this will impact foetal health and birth weight and stronger babies
~Having addressed the above you will be in a much better emotional space to bond with your baby

The power of good quality therapeutic touch can never be underestimated and can guide you to feeling calm, supported, nurtured and cared for.

As part of an integrated approach we can use guided visualisations or meditations as part of the session.
