About Me
Sara Cooper

Head Body Nerd and Chief Stuck Connective Tissue Stress Finder
Hi my name is Sara and I would like to welcome you to my website. Killarney Massage Therapy Centre is solely owned and managed by me. Massage, bodywork and Yoga are my passion and I look forward to sharing one of these amazing modalities with you. I have spent over eighteen years training and learning the best of what is to be offered in massage, bodywork and Yoga and have been inspired and have learnt from wonderful teachers that have guided me along this path.
Having initially gained my ITEC diploma in holistic massage in 2002, I have since gone on to do additional training and gained a qualification in Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy. I feel very privileged to be able to offer massage therapy and it can be wonderful in helping so many conditions, from a niggling shoulder pain, to feeling stressed out and detached from the body, tension headaches and sciatica, old injuries that flare up now and then, postural issues from sitting at a desk all day, repetitive strain injuries and very importantly (but often forgotten) as a regular treatment for optimum health. We all get stressed, our body's get stressed and we all need a skilled massage.
Having suffered from fibromyalgia from my late teens to my early 20's when I discovered Yoga it was a welcome relief from the exhaustion, muscle aches and the myriad other symptoms. It was a method of self care unlike any other I have ever experienced, it was a way of checking out for a short while from all the daily stresses and strains of modern living and dedicating time just for me, time to acknowledge my body/mind for how it was feeling in that moment and finding acceptance with that. Yoga is a beautiful, sophisticated system. Due to my love for the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits of the yoga practice I decided to embark on a teacher training course so I could share my love of this beautiful system with others. Following on from that I trained in a specialist prenatal yoga teacher training course due to the wonderful benefits I had experienced in two of my pregnancies and the positive impact it had on the births of my children.
